The Chacombe Music Festival is based in the small Oxfordshire village, 3 miles from Banbury. It takes place annually in late June/early July.

Since its founding in 2001, the Festival has grown from a single concert to several events over the course of a week. Full evening concerts are featured on the Saturday and Sunday evenings, with a one-hour Coffee Concert on Sunday morning and other events during the preceding few days.

The main venues are the Medieval Church of St Peter and St Paul and Sophie's Barn, an intimate, private performance venue, both of which are situated at the heart of Chacombe village.

The Festival has always aimed to provide performance opportunities for young artists on the brink of professional careers. The list of performance-alumni includes some of the finest artists of their generation: Esther Hoppe, Nadia Wijzenbeek, Magnus Johnston, Marie Macleod, Richard Harwood, Guy Johnston, Tim Gibbs, Tom Poster, Clinton Cormany, David Clegg, Huw Llywelyn Jones, the Tate String Quartet, the Lendvai String Trio, the Rhodes Piano Trio ­ and many others. In addition, an Artists Residency Programme was established in 2007, allowing the Festival performers an all-expenses-paid, intensive period of rehearsal and collaboration in Chacombe the week prior to the Festival.

The Festival programmes innovatively combine vocal and instrumental repertoire, with a common thread uniting the works presented.
